"Light the Way Birthdays is not about toys, gifts, or any objects gained through monetary opportunities. When I think back to my childhood and remember being in times of crisis, without a home and unsure of what was going to happen next, I wonder sometimes how I survived. It was not about gifts or objects; it was about building resiliency through community. The goal of this organization is to provide birthday parties, but it is much more than that. It’s about building a strong and supportive community by uplifting, empowering, and supporting our most vulnerable population: children. It is especially important to make sure children who have uncertain home lives feel supported. We hope to do this with our birthday projects." - Sandra Stewart, President
